I’ve got the outside, spigots sealed up, plenty of water, dog food, people, food, beer, and canned food And I’m gonna camp inside for about three days, as long as we have electricity, and running water this time, as opposed to that nasty storm three years ago, we should be in good shape 😁

I keep hearing people talk about their power losses. I guess we have a pretty good grid in this area. When we do lose power (rare) it is usually only an hour or 2.

It won't be getting better in our lifetime either...people need to make preperations to live with it, rather than fight it by buying EV's thinking everything will change when we do. The climate has gone thru numerous changes over the past hundreds of thousands of years and it takes hundreds if not thousands of years to make a change, electric vehicles will be long gone before this change is over !!

Funny how people don't understand that weather and climate change are two different things.

When it gets warmer than usual the media is instantly all over climate change. We hear about it all summer, or anytime it gets warm. Cold, not a word. There's also El Nino, La Nina that changes the climate. Basically, climate change never gets mentioned during winter. I guess that's the point I'm trying to make...
I've also been in the camp that climate/change is a cycle...

When mother earth is done with us human parasites...... she will freeze us out or burn us out (depending on the cycle). unfortunately when that happens we will take other species with us.

However prior to that, southern Florida will be under water and I will have beach-front property in Florida.

We have caused most of our own problems like building homes at or below sea level right next to the ocean, or moving to a dry climate for health reasons then irrigating it and planting stuff to create an arid atmosphere !! Then we build giant dams and build a city at the base, then scratch our heads when it fails !! Rather than face our stupidity, we blame climate change.

It is getting colder in certain areas because of warming in other areas that has never happened before. You get unusual warming in the artic and it forces cold air further south than it ever occurred before. Climate change is causing extreme temperature variations.

And yes, when it gets bitterly cold in areas that normally never gets cold, you get a ton of coverage on it.

When you say never before, you really mean in the past 250 years or so since records were kept. In reality, scientists have credible evidence showing the earths climate has made drastic changes at least 8x over the past 300 million years or so. The problem is, a complete climate change takes thousands of years to complete and we haven't been keeping records for that long...the climate change folks think we can stop or reverse this change buy spending all our hard earned money on things that are supposed to stop it, rather than spending that money on ways to live with what we can't change !!
