Another question that may sound silly, is how fast can I expect to go with my 13 ft star craft alum semi v boat with my little 7.5 hp merc? Engine seems to be running good @ WOT sounds like both cylinders are firing good, no excess vibrations or anything, and about half the hull is above water at speed with my GF sitting on the very front seat, she goes 10 mph (GPS speed app on my phone) I have heard people claiming this combination should run between 17-20 mph. Has anyone run a set up close to mine and been able to verify the speed? It did seem to help over all performance quite a bit after I installed the hydrofoil last weekend. Prior to the hydrofoil, the back of the boat would just dig down into the water and the front came up so hi, I couldn't see over it, so the foil did help but I have no way to know if I am reaching max rpms, and speed. I cleaned the carb up, and was very careful not to fool with any of the adjustments near it for timing, throttle linkages etc. all appear to be functioning normal, I just thought I should be able to go a little faster than 10 mph. Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated
