Re: Gettin the Prop off....!
DMZ, there are no simple answers to this, only ways to keeping it from happening, and that is anti-sieze on the splne when the prop was mounted. This should be done once a season, even if the prop is fine.
But now, you are stuck with a mess. I have,in extreme cases, had to cut them off the spline with a die grinder.
Your best hope is to get it off by frequent soakings and tappings with WD40 and light taps with a rubber mallet (to vibrate the shaft, and allow the 40 to run down it).
Then when you find the penetrant on the other side, get a good wheel puller that fits. And pray. An impact wrench on the wheel puller (if it is a good one) can help too. Heat works, but t also destrys the seals in the lower unit, and the rubber hub of the prop. If the prop has "become one" with the propshaft, it' a good bet that the lower unit has also suffered from lack of prevetive maintainence too, so it may need new seals anyhoo.
