It's mind over matter, I always try the "think warm be warm theory". It works to a certain point.

Kind of depends how heavy a coat you're wearing.

Had to break out the light-weight jacket last night to take the dog for a walk, was down in the upper teens. Supposed to get much colder on Sunday here. When it hits 0*F, it is time for the mid-weight jacket!

Might have to get me one of them jackets one of these days. I hear they sell them at the general store now.

Until then, I'll add the long johns under my flannel shirt.

It's 46* outside right now and I'm wearing a t-shirt, sweater, pull-over windbreaker AND light jacket...and I'm still COLD:fear:

It is pretty funny how relative hot/cold is. When I was in Vegas people were wearing spring coats when it was 8o degrees out. Up here it is common to see people in light sweatshirts when it is below 10 degrees.

I personally hate wearing winter coats unless I am spending a extended period outside. Going to and from the car just is just obnoxious to me because I get WAY to hot in the car. Just the heat from the defrosters to keep the windows clear is too hot and I usually find myself running the vent.

You can keep those temps right where they are, I will enjoy the -1c 30f+- we are getting today.



BTW, we have been in a cloud for best part of a week, and this morning there is about 1.5 inches worth of hore frost built up on my trucks antenna and in the trees, if the sun ever comes out it sure will be pretty to look at.

Did you show your buds the video of the flying sled yet??

7:20 central and it's already -20?. The forecast was for -22?. I think they might be a little off. A bunch of schools have already closed for tomorrow. 1st cold/snow day this year. Kid is happy about the 4 day weekend........

We are only at 24*F, but the wind is blowing and kicking up the dusting of snow we had earlier ... near white out conditions. But next to Musky, we are warm tonight ... only supposed to get down to about 8*F. It is trash night, hope the garbage can doesn't blow away!

Actually come to think of it, that was probably one of the silliest things I have ever done. Ice fishing without a shanty in -25F temps with 15mph winds. That was some of the coldest weather that I can remember. It got to -38F that night, and somehow my truck started. I remember being at the bar and being the only truck in the parking lot, but there being 30-40 snowmobiles and thinking how crazy it would be to ride one in that cold.

I just love it here when it gets down between -20 to-37 like it did 2weeks ago. Then I take off my medium long johns and put on my heavy ones. I just lay around the house in them . When I go outside, I climb into my insulated coveralls , face cowl and fine beaver hat. No pants no shirt at all. Nuthin like a nice sunny day walking the dogs at -30 C We also have about 3 1/2 ft. of snow. But it's a dry cold 35% humidity tonight and it's not snowing.

Its a balmy -14 F here, not too windy.

I did turn on the furnace, because my parrot was making too much noise banging his beak on the ice in his water dish.

Well, we got down to -28?, -24? right now. Not supposed to see above 0 temps for a couple days yet... There is no place I have to be and the fishing can wait.....:tea:

Just a slight breeze today, -8 at noon.
Walked out to get the mail at noon, in my skivvies, sneakers, and a jacket. That made the house feel like a sweat box when I came in.
