General Evinrude motor Issue

Hi all, restoring a 1991 Riviera Cruiser pontoon boat with a 1999 Evinrude 75hp outboard. Engine worked flawlessly before restoration. I have re-installed everything and now when I try to start the motor, I get the audible beeps, the dash lights come on, I hear the fuel pump engage however, no crank. Ideas?

Check yel/red wires coming from remote control. Make sure the are connected to the harness.

It is in neutral. When you say remote control, are you referring to where the throttle lever is? I have 2 harnesses from that to inside the console, and both are plugged in.

Find starter solenoid. Verify 12v DC on big red wire from battery.

Verify 12v DC on small post that's has the yel/red wire when key turned to start.

if yes to both have battery load tested for free at any auto parts store

make sure all battery cable ends are clean and tightened with a wrench

need a wiring diagram. I don't believe there was a 75hp in '99 -- but in any case, need a model number.

Wiggle the throttle lever back and forth and see what happens.

As said above, wiggle the throttle lever but also turn the key to start position.
