I have a pre-alpha ser. # 4002129 and when i tilt it up to the highest position i notice gear lube dripping from the upper bellows area.I suspect it may be a seal on the drive shaft.Does that sound correct? Thanks

The front seal in the drive is leaking, and you need a new bellows. It has to have a hole in it for oil to get out, which means water is getting in.

That's what i was afraid of. I have searched for repair videos on pre alpha drives that deal with changing bellows with no success.I have a manual but i prefer watching it in a video.Do you or anyone know of one? Thanks

Don't tell me, I don't make videos.

As a matter of fact......I would pay to see a video you created........:)

There are videos of this topic on youtube...(search on: mc-1 bellows, alpha bellows, etc) but ya gotta take some of them with a grain of salt. I watch mainly to supplement the steps in the manual. Still, be careful. Some good, some bad, some humorous.

And some so horrendously wrong it's embarrassing....

Next bellows job I do I'll have a go at a video (don't hold your breath though)....

I'm getting ready to change out all my bellows on a MC-1. Maybe I'll be able to take a vid and post it on here as a way of giving back for all the great advice I've received on this board.
