I've been reading about lower units and some refer to the small gear case units as a speedy or racing unit.
I'm going to play with a couple of motors and was curious what experience was out there. What would be the difference between a 1977 55hp small gear case and a 1973 50hp large gear case motor be as in performance.
I would assume the large gear case with the larger prop would have more torque, top end speed? Fuel usage?
Anyone have an opinion or experience with this sort of thing?
