I have a fuel gauge(which is new) and a tachometer that periodically do not want to work.
The fuel gauge will show more than way more than full at times at random while working. Sometimes is shows the correct amount. Sometimes it doesnt work at all. I have tested the fuel sender and it seems to work as it should but I am suspect it is possibly partially fried or has a bad ground in the unit itself.
The tachometer works fine when it works. But will periodically not work at the exact same time the fuel gauge will not work.
Would a shared bad ground between the fuel gauge and tachometer cause this? Or would a bad fuel sender cause this? Or both? Or would it be something else?
