Gasoline for Jonson25R70E

At this moment I?m repairing Johnson 25 HP from 1970. (25R70E) and I stumbled across a little dilemma, so I?m asking for an expert advice. More precisely, in my country (Macedonia, Europe) there is only 95 and 98 unleaded gasoline available while, according to the manufacturer, i think the motor is supposed to work with 89 octane gasoline. Could the use of 95/98 octane unleade gasoline cause some problems, and of what kind?

I don't think you are going to have any problems, I use 91-92 octane all the time.

Use the "95". It burns a little cleaner and it won't hurt a thing with your motor.

always remember to mix your gas at the proper ratio (not sure what it is for that engine) then add a little bit more oil! plugs are cheaper than pistons.

1) Oil mix ratio is 50:1

2) The octane number is a non-issue.
Europe uses a different measurement system from what we show in North America; typically, the same fuel in Europe would be rated ~ 5 points higher than in Middle America.
