Re: GAS TANK

larry,

Sounds like you want to carry 12 gallons?

If so, you can find PLENTY of configurations for 12 gallon plastic tanks. I would prefer plastic-no corrosion issues.

If you put a through deck filler on the boat, make sure it is grounded to the battery (-NEG.) terminal and it is vented according to instructions. Many fuel fills today have built in vents.

To look at options, check out: www.westmarine.com

Larry,

You can use some containers filled with water to figure out how the balance will be effected.

12-one gallon milk jugs filled with water will give you a very good idea of the weight of fuel.
Or, 2 five gallon pails, close enough.

Re: GAS TANK

Putting the fuel in the front makes for a LONG fuel line with associated problems. May want to consider just the 1 6 gal. tank (plastic)in the rear and carry extra fuel if you need. My 16'aluminum with a 40 goes a LONG way on just 6 galllon. I cann't remember any time I needed the extra fuel except on the bay when I went for a 26 mile run to Matagora Island
