Im about to bed or seat the gas tank (underfloor) and am out of ideals as to what to use< that is what will create a smooth smooth service and provide some cushion and still is schock resistant and gas. I still have half the hull to sand and finish so im out on grinding and sanding a poly one.....i want to buy my way out of this.. ;) Any ideals as to spray types?

Re: Gas tank bedding

A flat surface is typically the best. It doesn't matter, so much, what it is sitting on. Making sure it is held down solid, is the most important.

I would not set an aluminum tank on anything that can absorb and hold moisture though.

You can put down 4 to 6 round piles of caulk (3m 5200) about 5" in diameter, and about 1" thick, and press the tank down into it. It will hold the tank in place, and help keep it off the bilge bottom. Make sure the tank and bilge are free of oil and dirt, so the caulk makes a good bond.
