I bought a 1989 Champion w/90hp Mercury on it. The boat sat in storage for 2 years and was started about every 6 months or so. I took the boat out today to get it ready for fishing but it did not run very well. It was hard to start and when it did start, it had no acceleration and gas was leaking from what i think is an overflow in the carb. Is this a clogged up carb or something else?

Yes on all counts. I hate to tell you,you messed up, but...If you attempted to run this engine on 2 year old gas, the entire fuel system must be cleaned, as opposed to just cleaning the gas tank out,and draining the carb bowls.<br />Chances are, you can drian and fill the tank, change the filter ,drain the carb bowl, and fuel lines, and try again. As someone pumps the primer, gently tap the bowl to see if the flow quits. If it does, you got the needle in the carb to seat..If not, the carb must come off and be rebuilt.
