I have a 225 1994 merc that I took out this week and when coming back to the slip I tilted her up and noticed allot of gas on the water,I have a long no wake zone to go thru so I was idling for a while could I have just loaded the motor up with gas.
When tipping most engine up there is a certain amount of spillage from the carb bowls a V6 is especially bad because of 6 carb bowls if this is the case you can help the problem by running the fuel out of the engine before tilting it up but the is also fuel residue in the exhaust after a prolonged idle period
