Can anyone recommend a gas caddy for me to use? Preferably over 30 gallons, but will take any suggestions. Thanks

Although they sound like a good idea, they have their shortcomings. The main one is that you need to lift them into and out of the trunk of the car or truck bed, and drag them to the boat. A 30G Gas Caddy would weigh 250# plus, when full.

I have a 14G Gas caddy. I use it to keep my speedboat topped off, as it only has an 18G tank. It was the best birthday present I'v ever received from wifey, so I try to use it. I would have been just as happy with another tie.

I have abut 10 Jerry cans of 5 and 6 Gal each. When I fill my 21 footer, I use 4 or more of them. The gas caddy would take multiple trips.

And you get to lift it numerous times! It is a really bad idea (and most likely illegal) to fill a portable fuel tank if it isn't on the ground (aka in the back of the pickup) Plastic bed liner + plastic gas tank = static spark = kaboom!

Since gas weighs about six pounds a gallon, your 30 gallon gas caddy would be pretty difficult to get in and out of a vehicle. If you only need to move it from place to another on the same level surface, it would probably work OK.

We boat on a remote lake with no fuel service, so all our gas must be carried in. I've found 5- or 6-gallon cans are about all I want to carry, so I have a number of these that we fill in town and transport to the boat. Trying to pour gas from a can weighing 30 or more pounds without spillage while balancing on the back of the boat was challenging, so I bought a Jiggler-type device that easily allows you to siphon from the gas can into the tank without any spillage whatsoever. Works like a charm.
