This is my first ownership of a pontoon and I’m trying to add a Garmin striker Vivid 4CV fishfinder on a pontoon boat only place I can place it is on the starboard side of the toon as it has a welded area to mount. Where should I properly mount it!
If I mount it on the vertical plate it’s right where the V weld is on the bottom of the tube and it’s right in the way of the ladder.
Or could I mount it on the bottom of the horizontal plate at the bottom, which will move it forward and not interfere as much with the ladder when in use. But will put the transducer more under water and avoids the V weld? What do you seasoned pontoon owners think?

"rock and'a hard place".
because of the ladder I'd have to mount it horizontal.
That's my short answer.
With my new toons, I've got a pad on the port side.

I'd have to see if I could make a "stick on" mounting pad work on the port side, but the "curved' end cap would be problematic.
Do you know a good aluminum welder? Add a pad to the port side.

find a welder and weld a similar bracket to the other toon log.

or move the ladder.
