Looking into getting a GameFisher 15 HP. How hard/easy is it to find parts for this outboard. Also, given it's age 1988, what would you pay for one in good shape (few scratched on the hood, and a nick of 2 on the prop), Never repainted and the pull cord appears to be original and in good shape..

Thanks in advance.

You can get most parts from Sears or Mercruiser.com.
You can buy parts under Gamefisher or Force since they are identical.
Some parts are expensive so ebay might be your best bet.

I just bought a 1993 for $200.
$300 is the max I would pay for that motor and the cheaper the better.

One thing to watch for though, is the availability of some parts.
Check http://tinyurl.com/c6n7af (link to Sears parts for that particular motor).
Many of the ignition components are no longer available.
If the motor is in good running condition already, this may not be a big deal (especially considering the price of a new motor), but if it isn't running, or needs work, pass on it.

Thanks all for your input. I got the motor. It was in excellent shape! Actually, it looked to be brand-new. The grease was still brown/yellow (new looking) on all the moveable parts. There was a thin layer of dust on the internal parts, but other then that, she was in very good shape. Picked it up for 300. Can't complain. I put in a new fuel pump kit and got a better gas fitting for it and she's running great. Thanks all.
