Hi, My Son-in-law baught a used boat with a 35 hp Gale Sovereign Motor. I need info on the motor.
Mod#35DG13B, SN#814992. I need any and all info on Year, Gas/oil mix,and anything else helpful.
Earl
Hi Earl your motor is a 1960 model the mix is 24:1. Gale was a division of OMC, like Johnson or Evinrude. Your motor is basicly the same as any OMC 35hp OMC of the era. So manuals and parts for there motor are very common. You could probably order anything you need from your local Napa dealer if you don't have a J&E dealer handy. Your local library should be able to help with some sort of manual if you don't want to shell out the couple of bucks.
Willy is getting away with ignoring the manufacturer's requirements. That doesn't mean you or anyone else will get away with it.

OMC specified 24:1 for all pre-1964 OMC-made engines. That includes your Gale.

The wise thing to do is follow OMC's requirements.

It is not wise to recommend ignoring them.

Good luck.
