Be aware that the yellow boat is fiberglass, and the title is for an aluminum boat. Going to be obvious if you try to use the Starcraft title on the Checkmate. Just thinking out loud....

Mark,

There ain't no way in hell that I would do something like that.... Although I could wrap the boat in Aluminum and make it pass. Reynolds 500 yard roll should work!!!!

I wonder if he even owns the boat... sounds like a pissed of neighbor wanting the thing gone..

If you watch long enough you will find a good deal or two. tI just bought one and it was from a cragislist add. it was posted as a good running evertthing works boat that needs some TLC.. when I turned the corner I was like.. What have I gotten into. the interior was THRASHED from being left outside uncovered in the weather. the gelcoat was good (one little crack from a bump on TOP. so I offered him $500 less than he asked.. he took it..

Yeah I had to redo the entire interior.. but I got it for a steal. I;m happy

This is the EXACT thing that happen when I bought the Baja. I ended up getting a agreat deal however the "needs a little TLC" in the ad was WAY off.

Ok you got that right "Little" no "LOT" but so far it's all been simple small stuff.

Today I pulled the wheel bearings on the trailer, It was missing cap on one side, I knew it could NOT be good. I wad right both bearings were SHOT, came out in pieces.. SO I went to the auto parts store... ARRRGH 3 trips to get the right ones... I thought the part numbers on the Cup and Cone was dead giveaway. anyways ended up being a most of the day project.. but I am all good to go. 4 new bearings 2 new seal one new dust cap..

Bottom line.. I still LOVE the boat.. and I will have LOTS of little projects to keep me busy all winter.. come spring it should be like new again! so all craigslist adds aren't loosers.. Of course my wife might disagree. LOL

I saw one that looked a little "fishy" the other day.
Should have posted it here, and notified local authorities immediately.

it was for a 15 horse 4 stoke Merc in "mint" condition. He stated the condition 2 or 3 times. Asking price: 1200 dollars....
Isn't that a bit under priced? I've seen 2 and 3 year old similar sized motors in VG to Exc condition bring 2 grand range.
I went and looked an hour later and the ad was gone.
Sorry for the high jack but, a couple comments would be appreciated.
