there are bass boats like Allison, Bullett + others that run close to 100mph.
it is a BS/funny video though. I thought he said the boat was a Couger.

Look at who put out the video. It's a great slapstick spoof aimed at bass fishing and fast fishing boats by the most serious bass fishing tournament folks in the country.

You have to be a tournament fisherman to really appriciate the humor in that clip. I've had many conversations prior to blast off about how fast we can get from point A to point B.....it's just a thing us crazy bass guys like.

I actually won a tournament a few years back and never left sight of the dock....so speed isn't always an issue:cool:

Back in the early 70's, I placed 2nd in the BASS MN central region tournament on Lake Minnetonka, and missed the nationals by one place at the state on Mississippi Pool 8, with a 20 hp boat.

On Minnetonka, I figured the weather might get foggy, so I prepared. This was before GPS, so I mapped my spots by compass heading and time on plane. On day 2, we started from North Arm in pea soup fog. The partner I drew was legally blind and boatless. We were on Hardscrabble point for an hour and a half before anybody else got there. Then we left and went lunker hunting. We already both had a limit.

On pool 8, the river was high and muddy. I found the lunkers stacked like cordwood in the lilly pads of the backwaters. Little boat owner has to ride, and neither driver would pole his big beautiful bass monster into the pads and doodle sock for lunkers.

I did as well as I did by fishing a beer can reel on a long medium heavy action rod with 10 lb mono on it, and placing a plastic worm on the spot the driver was trying to get to first, casting over their shoulder. That was when plastic worms first came out. Most were plugging and spinning.

Yeah...Great spoof! I poke fun at bass tournament anglers all the time...I have an idea for a sequel to that video: It would start off by introducing the correct tackle...you'll need a fishing pole that looks like a Louisville Slugger being held from the wrong end...spool your favorite reel up with 12 gauge braided steel cable...now using 2 u-clamps, secure the $300 lure to the braided cable...now your ready to go fishing...casting can be tricky with this tackle so we advise obtaining a cannon ball and practice Shotputting in your backyard...once you've mastered casting you can concentrate on retrieving fish...this approach applies to all fish, no matter the size...the theory here is borrowed from the game of Tug of War...when (or if, with this tackle) you feel a nibble...don't even give the fish a chance, lower the rod (ballbat) down to the water surface, and with all your might, in an upward motion that would make a chiropractor proud, yank that fish directly from its spot right into the boat...no need to reel, just yank it in...again, fish size doesn't matter so yank as if it's Moby **** at the other end...AND REMEMBER, Always practice "Catch and Decease"...just like the Pros!
