Re: Fukushima radiation

Yet another reason I had to go veggie. If it isn't irradiated tuna (never mind the already high levels of Hg already present in such palagic, apex predators and there rediculously low, unsustainable harvest numbers), it's the Corexet marinated gulf shrimp here in the Gulf, or perhaps you prefer some super cheap Wal-mart brand frozen shrimp, farm raised in a virus infect cesepool in Southeast Asia. Oh, what's that? You'd like some nice herpes infected sea turttle soup instead. Sounds great! You're in luck. We got 'em all down here in FL ;)
What I find most disconcerting is that so many peple play appologist for these situations. So many people have become accustomed to such pathetically low standards in our "food" supply (and so many other areas of our lives) that these sorts of situations don't even seem to bother anyone. I mean it's only a little radioactive Cesium, right? No big whoop. Shoot, I'm goona go give some to the kids right now! I hear it's good for their bones, or something. No wonder 70% of this coutry is fat as a pig and dying a slow, miserable, diabetic death. When did everyone stop caring about themselves, what they put into their bodies, and those of their children? I'm sitting on an giant Airforce base right now with airmen, marines and soldies, most of whom are half my age and FAT, and so are their kids!?!?!?! Since when are Marines allowed to be fat? Good grief!
Wake up folks. The days of wine, roses and Bluefin sushi in the desert, as well as the attitude of entitlement that goes with it, are over. Have been for a long time. It's time to pay the piper and I don't like what I see.......

Re: Fukushima radiation

There will most certainly be more discoveries as time goes on. There is a dilema associated with releasing information and the capability of people to understand and relate the data to something for which they should be actually concerned. Don't know the answer to that and am glad that I'm not the one that has make those decisions.

But I do know that there are hundreds of thousands of people that work in Health Physics and Radiation Protection that know what the numbers mean and that can perform independant studies. There is no shortage of people who are willing to release their findings one way or another.

Fukushima is just another opportunity for the green weirdos to fuel their attempts to stop nuclear energy. The un-educated fools with nothing but time on their hands make it tough for us normal folks.

?us normal folks? possibly would like to explain to the families that were devastated by the greedy, why the design did not take in to account levels of tsunami that had been experienced in prior known history in that very area. I firmly believe that within the group of ?us normal folks? the loudest screams would have been heard, had it been there children, family or themselves.

Could it also be said that "us normal folks" are also greedy in their demand for more electrical consumption? Do you think coal is safer? There are risks in life just like driving to work everyday....get over it. If all the "greedy" corporations dried up we would be living like cavemen.

This is getting too contentious, gentlemen and offers too many myths about radioactivity and radionuclides as well as touching on politics and socially controversial topics that have nothing to do with the OP's topic.

It is no longer our policy to just lock such threads without giving them a chance to return to civility and allowed topics.

Please restrain yourselves. Thanks for your cooperation.:)

I admit,I'm guilty...sometimes it is hard to keep the train on the rails.

Re: Fukushima radiation

It was a natural disaster type accident and was in no way done on purpose. Anything we get from it will be so minute compared to what the Japanese people have suffered that I don't even think it's worth mentioning.

I'm pretty sure that the U.S has released more radiation than this when we did the above ground testing of the A and H bombs... and we did that stuff on purpose!

If you're worried about eating and irradiated Tuna, don't eat Tuna anymore... the Tuna sure could use a break from the commercial fishing fleets.

Just remember, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!

Re: Fukushima radiation

People are fat because of abundance. We can make a lot of safe food for for billions of people. It takes a tremendous amount of energy to produce and move food. Seeing the irony yet?

Tuna and other fish and mercury: It occurs naturally.

People died of tooth decay before the industrial revolution.

Pollution has always followed people. People without a "modern" life sit in their own s--t and ****; their kids play in it and they live short, miserable, painful lives with excruciating pain.

Sign me up for some radiation.

The water with lead traces in it blocks the radiation. I'm good. :)

There's a change for the good. Lets hope it works that way.
