we have a 1959 johnson sea-horse 5 1/2 hp
model#cd-16
serial#1941875 we are having trouble keeping the motor runing it starts up great but after a min. it cuts out! i was told that it needed to be a presserized tank (with air runing into tank to push fuel out. and had to have TWO lines one for air and one for fuel! we curantly only have one (the fuel)line hooked directly into fuel tank
does it need both and were can i find a tank and fuel fittings for this?
we also heard something about puting a in line fuel pump to keep pressure up but i just dont know!
thanks,Danny A

Re: fuel tank

Yes Danny, you need a two line hose with pressurized tank. Check around on ebay. They crop up there from time to time. You can also check a local dealer and he may have one laying around.

And yes on question two...you can install a fuel pump on the engine so that it will operate off the fitting that would normally pressurize the fuel tank. Not sure which pump can be used though. Maybe one of the other guys will help out.
