Fuel tank instillation question???

I just started a 71 18ft starcraft project. Where is the ideal pace to put the fuel tank? I was thinking under the deck which I haven't installed the foam yet can I get some ideas and help I'm we to this so all information is help full here is a couple pics of what I'm working with

I'm not en expert on your type of boat but where was it originally? Modificatations and changes require a lot of thought and some math work or you may end up with something you don't like or you boat don't like.
