My project boat is a 1990 Four Winns Horizon 200. The floor was rotten, the tank cover and support structure was non existent. What would be the best material to use for the floor joists across the tank?

What's the distance between the top of the tank and the bottom of the deck?
Also, the forum recommends that you keep all the posts concerning your rebuild in the same Thread. Less confusing for members that way.;)

I have the same type of supports that go over the tank. The original material was some sort of clear wood that was never glassed or even treated with resin. They are really soft and too rotted to really tell what species of wood they are. When I get to that point, my plan is to laminate plywood to the thickness required with PL, then encapsulate them in glass like the bottom of the deck. Honestly If my dang fuel tank wasn't as wide I might consider leaving them out altogether. I think the deck will be plenty sturdy without them.....

I'd use 2x4 Douglass fir and as BLC said encapsulate them in fiberglass resin and cloth. They'll last decades if you do.
