I have a 1987 Johnson 225 hp V6 the VRO has been deleted prior to me owning the engine I've installed a Master Tech Marine dual fuel pump the boat has 180 gallon fuel tank that has 50 gallons of fuel in it at the moment for the life of me I cannot get the primer ball to get hard when I pump it up it starts to step up and then collapses again I have gone through every hose on the boat from the tank to the separator from the separator to the primer ball from the primer ball to the fuel pump I tried pumping it with the engine running and it just keeps getting squishy and sucking itself in somebody please help I'm about ready to set this fucking thing on fire

When the bulb collapses there is a blockage between the bulb and the fuel supply.---You checked the valves in the bulb ?-----You checked inside the tank ?----Checked anti syphon valve ?-----Why the " industrial " language for what might be a simple fix ?

I agree, reading your statements....did you replace the primer bulb?

Also, is the engine not running correctly?

I have three different same thing after I checked the tank I checked the separator changed out the filter twice and I'm so sorry to hurt your virgin with one word

I have tried three different primer balls I checked the fuel tank checked all of the lines I replaced the separator filter twice sorry I didn't know there were women and children or men that can be offended so easily over a word

I agree, reading your statements....did you replace the primer bulb?

Also, is the engine not running correctly?
The engine idle spine when in the water it surges it goes up and down when trying to go full throttle when at full throttle will not hold wide open throttle

If the bulb is collapsed generally there is a lake of air in the tank and it’s causing a vacuum.
If you crack the fill cap on the tank can you hear air getting sucked in?

No when I open the tank there is no air getting sucked in I took my compressor and blew 100 pounds of air through the lines and air was forcing through the vent it built pressure and then once I started the engine it lost pressure again in the squeeze ball

This should be easy to fix.----Test run with a 6 gallon tank and hose.

Could be. Even though you went to a reliable source new can sometimes mean nothing.
Been down that myself on a few times.

If the primer bulb collapses the fuel pump works very well.----Once a motor starts the primer bulb does NOT need to be hard !

Fuel pump diaphragm must have torn or weeped. Must be smoking hard with all the pumping your doing.

You are NOT supposed to take the place of the engine fuel pump on a 225 hp engine. You state it can reach full speed.
You are just a weakling . :)
