I am working on a 96 200XRI EFI motor. It had been sitting for 8 years and the fuel was never drained from the system. I think it may have had stabil in it but that does`nt last that long. anyway it only has 56 hr.s on it so my brother and I bought it for a good price. I have emptied and flushed the tanks as best I could. flushed the lines all the way to through the filter and into the vapor separator. I freed up the needle and seat in the separator and got fuel to flow through it. now Im at the fuel pump, and the pump is trying to pump fuel but it thumps about once a second and won`t flow any fuel. does anyone know a way of flushing the pump somehow? I think gunk is in it and not letting it push any fuel. also, if I flush the fuel rail should it free up any injector issues? any help would be appreciated.
