I have 2 questions regarding the fuel delivery system on my 92 model Four Winns 5.0 liter OMC.
1. What should the fuel pressure be coming out of the fuel pump to the carburetor? I have a 2 barrel Holley Carburetor.
2. My supply line from the fuel pump to the carburetor is a steel pre-fabbed line. How can I hook up a pressure gauge to the line to check the pressure? I initially thought the supply line was a plastic tube but that turned out to be a return line.
The reason I am asking is because I am stalling out after I hit cruising speed. The engine fires right up. Does not even act like it is cold natured at all. I dont have to throttle or anything just turn the key on and POW she fires up. The boat will idle and and troll out fine. Soon as I open her up she planes out and than I back down to cruising speed and about 15030 seconds later she starts stalling. If I back down quickly she catches back up and will continue running. Been told by many this is a fuel delivery issue. Sounds right to me. I have already checked the fuel lines, anti syphon valve, tank, and supply line. They all seem fine. Down to the fuel pump and carburetor.
