The Outboard engine starts no problem but after 3 - 5 mins of running the engine slowely dies. This is due to fuel starvation. You can prevent this by manually squeezing the Primer Bulb on the fuel tank and the engine picks up again. This has to be repeated every 3 - 5 mins.
The engine is a Mariner 75 - 2 stroke.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Welcome,
You need more patience. Meanwhile please delete the duplicate of this post.

Check for air leaks in the fuel suction line, anywhere before the fuel pump.
If the fuel pump hasn't been serviced in a coupla years, throw in a kit.

After that, you'll have to rig a pressure gauge to dog it.

hope it helps

Re: Fuel Starvation

I have the same engine. The other day, it did the same, but I noticed that the primer bulb was not getting hard, and I can hear the pressure is going back into the tank. And that happened only when the gas tank is less the half empty. So I filled up the tank to the max and the bulb was primed tight and hard and I didn't have to keep priming it after that.
So I am guess that there is a crack in the line inside the tank. I hope I am right.
