fuel pump replacement on mercruiser 3.0L

hello... i need step by step instructions on how to replace my fuel pump on my mercruiser 3.0L Especially on how to get the engine to its "lowest downstroke" so i don't damage the new pump. Can someone help? thanks..

Once you get the old pump off, look through the hole and turn engine until cam is on the low spot.
