Hey all,
After premixing the past two years and using only the fuel side of the VRO pump, it has quit on me. Motor is a '86 110hp johnson j110tlcdc. I've searched and read through many posts, but cant find a consensus on which fuel pump is the proper alternative, the 2port 0438556 or 3port 0438559? part 0438556 shows 25-55hp in the description, and images of 0438559 show it as a two pump system.... so I'm kinda confused. Also, while doing the pump swap I want to replace all the fuel lines. Should I use 5/16 or 3/8" inside diameter hose?
thanks,
Jacob

Re: Fuel pump replacement and Fuel line diameter

You are going to have to use a 3 port pump, you will have to make a mounting bracket for it. You use the pulse line for the VRO pump for the pulse line on the new pump. the pump you listed (438559) was used as a single pump system on older V4 engines and should work fine on your engine. Use the size fuel line that fits the pump, probably 3/8".
