Fuel pump diaphram- to glue or not to glue? that is the question!

I found that my 50hp force has a cracked/torn fuel pump diaphram. I ordered and recieved the new one and am wondering should there be any RTV type sealant used on the gasket? or does it go on dry?

Gasket goes on dry. Believe me, after a couple of weeks it will probably glue itself to the new diaphragm and pump housing.

Just replaced mine dry -- I second Frank!

The old one was really bonded to the gasket and I had to pull it off carefully

No RTV or gasket sealer required is correct.. Besides, most gasket sealers dont like fuel very much..

Thanks for the input, i put it on dry after cleaning the gasket surface and it tightened up well. Fired right up and ran smooth-finally got that rough idle problem handled.
