MIE 260 fuel pumps like these pretty common setup, and the spring, well, if the part is a match for the engine it will work. Maybe your picture is not oriented to show the arm spring. I would think they all need this spring to push the pump rod back up. Maybe some have a spring you dont see. On that parts site, one pump shows a spring, another does not but I think due to the angle of image, you can't tell.

Does your engine use the rod in the block style that moves the pump arm?

Skip aftermarket and buy the Carter pump that was originally on the motor. It's less than $50
