Long story short...first time out after a 100 hour service my 'no oil' alarm went off. Took it back to the service center and they said I needed to replace the fuel/oil pump that the diaphram was probably punctured. The motor is a 2005 50hp Johnson. Seams young to need a new fuel pump to me...is it possable when they replaced the fuel filter something got in the line?
So I said get a rebuild kit. According to them there is not kits available from Bombardier or anyone. Have to buy the whole pump at $350 plus labor! So why replace the whole pump???
Anyone know where I might find a rebuild kit for this motor? Lots of rebuild kits for other motors online...just not for mine that I can find.
The pump number is 5007421. Any help appreciated!
Update...
I pulled the pump and took apart. No visable problems with the seals or diaphrams.
Put back together and instaled on motor. Alarm still goes off but it looks like I have smoke out the exhaust???
Also the fuel side of the pump works fine. Can I just mix the oil with the gas? All the oil side of the pump does is add oil to gas...right?
