Well this little 4 hp evinrude seems to be running good now. But i recall when i fuel up the tank it said that it was a 3 gallon tank, not true it was all i could do to squeez in 2.5 gallon. so i think i might of been off on my mix along way. because i added 8 oz. of super tech tcw3. so my question is this if i put in 2 exact gallons of fuel how many ounces of tcw3 oil should i be adding for a 50 to 1 mix ratio.? thx Joe

6 ounces,Joe. 50parts gas to 1 part oil, or 50:1.

one pint oil->6 gallons gas
one quart oil -> 12 gallons gas
4 quarts in a gallon 12X4=48
Geez, that would be 48:1

I don't know why, but that dawned me the other day when I put 48 gallons of gas in and worried that I had gone .12 gallon over.

Sounds like government math.

Oh yea, forgot to add this.

For a 50:1 ratio, it really is 1 quart to 12.5 gallons of gas. The oil manufacturers were sneaky when they came up with that table on the side of the bottle of oil. For every 144 gallons we burn, they sell an extra pint. Doesn't sound like much, but I would like to have a dime for every post on this board, too. It adds up! :D
