First timer here, I have a 1990 Seaswirl Bowrider with a 1990 140 HP Evinrude,
It seems to run out of gas but it still has half a tank. The gas bulb will not pump and the engine
will not fire until gas added. Thinking it's the fuel line inside tank but would like suggestions to trouble shoot and fix.

Re: Fuel Line

When you say the primer will not pump, do you mean it has air in it, or it collapsed? Pull the fuel pickup line and measure it an the depth of the tank.... Maybe someone shortened it?

BTW - fuel pickup fittings on a lot of those seaSwirl boats are steel and rot out. Perhaps the PO fixed it incorrectly?

Re: Fuel Line

My mech. did a VRO conversion and added a fuel line water seperator but don't think he shortened the pick up line.
Is the pickup line hard to take out? the bulb is not collapsed but does not seem to pick up gas, maybe a hole in the line 1/2 way down?

Re: Fuel Line

Yes, hole in the pickup tube would do that. Pickup should unscrew from tank fitting. S/B NPT threads. Check condition of fuel pickup fitting. On those Skyline poly tanks they were steel and rotted out....
