Fuel Gauge

Fuel Gauge not working. Has power to gauge, no power coming out to sending unit. Stick ground wire to the power out terminal to sending unit and gauge will go to full mark. Could this be the gauge, sending unit, or ground problem.

sending unit in tank is a variable reister, if you ground the wire at the tank and the needle pegs over , you need a new sending unit

Senders with wire-wound resistors with a wiper only last a few years.
