I have 3.0 4 cylinder. It is the EST type. The Serial number is 0L614291

Question: I put a fuel bulb on it like on an I/O engine and a new external cannister style fuel filter system a few days ago. Ran ponton for an hour or less since installation with no problems. Any reason I shoud NOT have installed these on an I/O?

Today it wont run up past 2800 RPM.

I squeezed the bulb while moving forward and it was not hard, after it got it hard the pontoon would go to full RPM but would not after I went back to idle and tried to excel again. It would not go past 2800 RPM until I primed the bulb again.

Question: Will a clogged fuel filter keep the engine from full throttle and yet start, idle and run up to 2800 RPM OK

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: fuel filter

The filter is a recommended upgrade, and one of the best things you could do for your engine. The bulb and the fuel line is another story. The should not be in the engine compartment of an IO. They are a safety hazard should you have a fire for some reason. Safety is the only reason for not having the fuel bulb, it has nothing to do with it working or not.
