Shift interrupt switch is tested with a multimeter. Yes they do fail, but not very often. Easiest way to test is to disconnect it.

The shift cable was replaced in May by the previous owner, with a receipt.

When I replaced the bellows I did not do this one. Today I found that the cable bellow has a tear in it, hence why I had a small leak into the bilge.

The PO said the cable was replaced but it still needed new bellows. Replacing the cable can be done without bellows, but most caes its all done at once, not much more cost.

Then the lower cable has a tear in it and is leaking water. I'm not so sure the cable was replaced.

hooked up my timing light and had someone turn the engine over and move the throttle around. Surprise! My timing light only flashed on a few of these trials

Disconnect the interrupt switch and see if if your spark gets better

Bellow was replaced as well. I know of the shop that did it, and come to think of it I wouldn't be surprised if the guys just threw a used one on there from ebay.. looked clean and didn't have any bio growth on it like the others, but definitely had a tear. I'll check the interrupt switch when I get home in a few weeks and keep you posted. Thanks!
