Fuel consumption 1977 Evinrude 70 hp outboard

check the butterflys in the carbs are opening fully. when I first got mine the cable was badly adjusted so the carbs only opened 50%. Not sure if someone done this by mistake or to restrict the top speed.

I'm going out again on Monday, I will check that tomorrow. Bringing boat to house to install several items. Don't know real history of motor, but can't imagine why someone might do that!

OK, on second thought, maybe to keep the kids in check!
