Frozen steering Cable

I posted a forum earlier in the week ABOUT MY STEERING CABLE BEING FROZEN. I HAVE TAKEN THE CABLE AND THE TUBING COMPLETELY OUT OF THE MOTOR And the CABLE MOVES JUST FINE, THE ACTUAL CABLE TUBING OR HOUSING IS BINDED TO THE CABLE FROM OLD GREASE AND RUST. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FREE THIS CABLE..

FOR THOSE SMART GUYS PLEASE UNDERSTAND MY POST ALL THE HELP I HAVE GOTTEN THUS FAR HAS BEEN HELPFUL.

WHERE DO YOU GET THE TUBE REPLACEMENT THAT FITS INSIDE THE ENGINE AREA WHERE THEJCABLE GOES IN. THE CABLE WORKS FINE ITS THE HOUSING THAT'S STUCK TO A PERFECTLY GOOD CABLE.

Steering cables are a wear item. Yours is shot, replace it.

Where do you get the tube replacement that fits inside the engine area where thejcable goes in. The cable works fine its the housing that's stuck to a perfectly good cable.

It sounds like you're looking for a new tilt tube but put a picture up to be sure.
What motor?

Thanks Chief Petty Officer, I wound up cutting the tilt tube off of the cable it was fused to the tilt tubing because it sat in one position for 4 years before I bought the boat. I have located another
tube used in great shape for $30. eventually I will purchase a new stainless steel one but for right
now I wanna get fishing before it gets cold.
