Seems if there is little info on removing a frozen prop......here's how we did it.

For those Mercury OB owners who may have to tackle that job some where down the path, here's what we did. Time required 4 hours.

Using a side cutting wheel grinder we made a circular cut (about 1/2 " out from the back lower unit) around the back-end of the outer hub. Then cut 4 slits thru the outer aluminum hub parallel to the shaft which gave us access to the three aluminum hub support supports. We cut those and then pealed the 3 aluminum prop sections off the rubber hub. The rubber hub was then sliced off leaving the outer frozen shaft.

The stub end of the outer shaft allowed us to attach a standard (3 leg-6") wheel fuller. We then lightly heated the outer shaft (not the spline)with a butane torch while applying increasing pressure on the puller. With a pop it came loose leaving the spline in excellent condition.

Hope this helps.....
