Hello everyone, I have a 1992 Yamaha 40 MSHQ which I’ve been going through the carburetors. I need to replace the seat valves but they won’t budge. I can see where attempts have been made because the hex heads are a little damaged. But I can still get a socket on them and with a lot of pressure and keeping it straight I’m not rounding them off they just will not budge. I’m sure corrosion is part of it. I have a propane torch and a heat gun. But I want to do this as safe as possible (I’m afraid of melting the aluminum) I’m considering boiling for a bit then trying to loosen. Any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated. I wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for this Forum. Here is a pic of what they look like. All three are stuck.
