Fresh Water Pontoon and Transom Corrosion

I just purchased a 2008 Tahoe and the toons below the water line and the transom bracket are showing some serious corrosion. This boat sits in a fresh water lake about four months a year and has done so since it was new. I just sold a 1996 pontoon that sat in the same lake for the same amount of time each since it was new and the toons and transom bracket looked perfect with no corrosion. What could cause the 2008 pontoon to corrode so bad versus the 1996 pontoon? I just purchased new magnesium anodes to put on the boat. Is there anything else I should look for like the batteries maybe causing a small electrical current charging the aluminum causing to to corrode faster?

It can corrode away quickly if there's an electrical issue, it can be with this boat, the old dock, or another boat near it.

Thanks ondarvr! We had the pontoon out this weekend and while I was checking the new magnesium anodes I just installed I noticed a slight electrical charge when I touched the transom anode. I couldn't find anything wore or cut. Any ideas?

Is this a public dock, or is this at your house? If it's only your boat at the dock then start looking at your wiring, both on the boat and the dock. It's much more difficult if there lots boats in slips around you.
