Hello all, I have a 1990 Four Winns Sundowner 205 that I am trying to get some touch up paint for the light grey color. Is there any way to do a paint code search? I have tried a google search but none of the places have any color close to the one I need. I believe it is an oem light grey Four Winns color as all of the other Sundowners are the same color grey. Probably won't help but it is the grey in the top of the photo below. Thank you!

Spectrumcolor.com may be the best resource for finding a color match. If I put the parameters in (Four Winns, Grey, 1990) it comes up with 2 colors

Charcoal
Light Grey

You'd have to see if they match though. Another thing to consider is the age of the boat and related fading of the color that is on there. If you are doing the entire area, it won't matter much, but touch-up will most likely be different.

You can get gelcoat kits for custom matching your colors - DIY.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Bein' 33 years old, I'd suspect it's somewhat faded, so an exact color match, maybe up to the eye, not a color code,.....

Gel changes color in the sun. After 3 decades any patch will look like a patch. Even if you perfectly match it today, in a month it will be visible as the new gel will change at a different rate than the old gel unless you redo the whole thing

That’s what I ended up doing. I took the best photo I could and had it “matched” at a local ppg paint shop. And was able to make the patch and then blend it by wet sanding. I can tell where the patch is, but when asking others they say it’s not noticeable unless I point it out!
