My local Gander Mountain is trying to get rid of a 2008 Tahoe 216 WT with the 5.0 liter carbed Mercruiser with the Alpha one outdrive. With the trailer they're asking $27,000 and I'm probably going to offer $25,000.

I found a tahoe dealer about 40 miles from me that I can use for service since Gander mountain says they aren't going to be selling boats anymore.

I've been a boat owner for years and recently had to dump my 83 SeaRay due to a bad engine. after dealing with an old boat for years I'm thinking It would be nice to not have to worry about breaking down all the time and just enjoy the boat.

I love the layout of the 216. I've read through all the posts on here about the Tahoes and for the most part they seem positive. Everything I've read from boating magazines and such give the newer Tahoes good ratings.

So, the big question, should I do this deal or keep looking?

Thanks for any input.

You will like the tahoe, there have been some problems in the past with quality control, but I think they have worked alot of the problems out. Granted the tahoe does not have the fit and finish of a cobalt, but for the money and what I do with my boat I can't complain. As for the power train there all the same. I really like the deck boats, they have alot more room than the standard bowrider.

We picked up our 2008 216wT this year. It has the 4.3 L and we paid 25,500 with all the specials and military discounts. The tracker guys themselves would negotiate very little except for throwing in freebies. Great boat, haven't had any problems, lots of fun
