Does anyone have any experience with the optional cover mentioned in the title? Am I the only one who thinks it looks terrible? Is it easy to use or should I forget about it altogether? What other options are there?

Re: Foul-Weather Full Enclosure Cover

All depends where you live and what kind of weather you encounter. I live in California and don't use a full cover...I store my boat under a canvas canopy. When I trailer my boat to and from the lake, I like it open because it provides fresh air and also blows out leaves and other stuff that have fallen in while it was stored. Coming back, it helps to dry up some of the water. Again, this is something that you'll have to decide on. If you don't like the custom covers Tahoe offers, then look up these at iboats' store

Another thing when trailering, the covers sometimes flaps in the wind if its not tight enough and will wear out the gel coat finish.

Re: Foul-Weather Full Enclosure Cover

We live in central IL so we have a distinct boating season, which usually begins in late April and ends in late September. We'll need a good cover for winter storage but we also want a good cover when using the boat in bad weather. Here in the midwest, storms can pop-up out of nowhere so we want something we can put up in a flash but also looks descent. We may have to go with a custom cover because the ones I've seen all look like crap. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the other tips though. All good things to remember!

Oh, you mean that kind of foul-weather cover...My badd.

They all look kinda of crappy. But, who cares as long as you're kept warm and dry. That's all that matters, right? Custom covers can cost an awful lot but but I hope you find one that's reasonable and within your budget.

Good luck!

I suppose you're right. Keeping warm and dry is more functional than looks... Now, I just need to convince the wife!!! Wish me luck!!!

Just tell her, "Honey, you wouldn't want me to get all wet and catch a cold now, would you?"

Good luck!
