I did some searching, but nothing comes up regarding "foul release coatings". Major brands are PropOne and PropGlide. These product are supposed to give a slick coating of some sort to propellers and underwater running gear so that marine life (barnacles, etc.) does not grow on them.

For many years, I have been using a combination of zinc coating and even anti-fouling paint on my propellers (4 of them) which stay underwater for the boating season (3-4 months). (Mercruiser Bravo 3 outdrives / prop sets)

They stay reasonably clean, but the painted surface on the props tends to kill performance by about 10-15%. I am wondering if it is worth trying PropOne or PropGlide as a better approach that won't affect performance (as much).

Any real-world experience out there that folks can share, as these products are a bit pricey.

I would tend to side with the manufacturers (Mercury) recommendation and apply zero products to the propellers

The best method to preventing marine growth on propellers is to use them as intended. Sitting static doesn't do you or your boat any good, ymmv
