Ford 302 repower

I have an OMC 5.0 that I want to put in my 1987 Bayliner Ciera currently powered with an OMC 3.0 My questions are #1 can I leave the current outdrive on and just change the prop, question #2 can I just change the lower or upper drive? Or ok here's question #3 do I have to change the complete outdrive? Thanks in advance! Joel

If you're going to do it, it's best to have ALL the pieces to do it with.
Have you got the exhaust for the Ford? Will it work with the current transom shield? Drive ratio will be way off, more so than fiddling with props can really fix.

Just an FYI, both the cobra, and Ford power are obsolete. You may have a tough time chasing down parts.

Another thought... Is that 3.0L original??? I can't imagine one of those barges being powered by a 4 banger.

I do have all the pieces and yes the 3.0 came factory in this boat. STUPID I know!!
