force no water spitting out at idle

is it normal for a 86-87 force to not spit out water at idle. all that comes out of the ports is exhaust.

DON'T RUN THE ENGINE WITHOUT WATER; EVEN AT IDLE WATER IS SUPPOSE TO COME OUT OF EXHAUST HOLES. YOU MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE IMPELLER ON THE LOWER UNIT.THE ENGINE DOES;T OVERHEAT;?

i put the ear muffs on and it still overheated

Did you run the impeller dry? That'll turn it to junk in no time flat! Time to replace the impeller. (Buy a manual if you don't know how.)
