I bougth a Force 9.9 from my friend that ran OK, but now it overheated! I replaced the water pump and made sure the tubes were clean. I checked the thermostat and found what looked liked melted rubber in the hole that the thermostat fits in. I cleaned that out as best I could. When I tested it again, nothing, no water coming out of the exhaust or pee hole?? What's next?? Use it as an anchor??

Re: Force 9.9 Overheating

if theres no water coming out at all, then u may be blocked up under the power head. You said new impeller, how was the housing? scored at all replace it. If thats fine, and still no water at all, then removal of powerhead would be my next thing on the agenda. Water flows under it and around it to cool...but its easy to clog it up....good luck

No problem with the housing on the impeller. Removing the head sounds like i need a mechanic.
