The trigger leads on those like to break at the fork terminal. Check those. You could also have a bad #3 coil. Connect it to one of the leads of a known working cylinder. If it sparks, then the coil is good.<br /><br />Hard starting is usually caused by the choke butterflies not closing sufficiently. The choke solenoid should close them within a hair of being completely closed (pull them too far and they stick closed). If any aren't closing to that degree, the choke circuit in the carb doesn't function. They're real touchy that way. Especially the 85s for some reason.
